Auditions for The Crew, the school’s hip-hop dance team, will take place May 15 in the dance room from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m.

Hip-hop teacher Rodrigo Leal said he is looking for dancers who show discipline, consistency, and confidence. All interested students are encouraged to audition and should come prepared to perform two eight-count solos.

There is no set number of dancers who will be selected. Leal said he will choose members based on how well they perform and how prepared they are during auditions.

“I like talent and people who are willing and eager to be in the group,” Leal said.

The Crew requires members to attend rehearsals, including before-school practices, and prepare for several performances throughout the year. The team typically performs six to seven times.

In addition to performing, Leal said The Crew gives students a chance to make friends and be part of a team.

“You should join the crew because it’s a lot of fun,” Leal said. “There’s a lot of socializing, and you become part of something bigger than yourself.”
