The eighth grade football team lost their final game 0-32 against Lanier on Oct. 21. This game ends the season with a record of 0-6. Coach Astaire Carter chose Benson King as the player of the game and season.
“Benson really performed through all the obstacles and every time he got hit he hopped right back up,” Carter said. “He really led the offense as a leader and as a quarterback should.”
King also had the play of the season against West Briar on Oct. 14.
“We had a pass play that got called up and Benson read the field, saw an open spot, and took in a 15 yard touchdown,” Carter said. “He really went above and beyond this season.”
