“Where there is unity, there is victory!” (in Spanish)

Hey Chargers. From the volleyball game to game night, it’s been a week full of teamwork, energy, and school spirit. Let’s head over to Lorelei to cover our sports segment.

The eighth grade Lady Chargers won their first volleyball game of the season against Pershing Middle School on September 2nd at Pin Oak with a score of 2 to 1. Despite losing the first set 17 to 25, our Chargers rallied to win the next two sets 25 to 21 and 15 to 10. The eighth grade volleyball team has been undefeated district champions for three years straight. This first victory sets the tone for the season and puts the Lady Chargers on track for another district championship.

The next volleyball game is Thursday, September 11th at Meyerland Middle School from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Make sure you come out and support our Chargers.

On to football. The eighth grade players play their second game of the season on September 15th at Butler Stadium against Lawson Middle School. Tickets are available for purchase at the game for $5 or online at gofan.com for $6. The game starts at 7:30 p.m., so make sure to turn out and support your athletes.

Pin Oak school spirit kicked off on Tuesday when Pin Oak had their first pep rally of the year to celebrate the beginning of a new football season. It included several performances from cheer, company, and crew along with music from choir, band, and stage band.

My favorite part about the pep rally was the hip hoppers because it was really fun to see how the moves they did and um the person who went in the middle and started doing like these cool really cool moves.

My favorite part about the pep rally was the cheerleaders doing their like cheer routine and being in the air.

My favorite part of the pep rally was whenever the choir started singing because it was really just surprising how good they were.

My favorite part about the pep rally was probably the sack race because it was really like thrilling and exciting watching everybody just like falling over and just trying to win the race.

That’s all for today, Chargers. Thanks for tuning in to POMS Weekly News. If you want to see any photos from the pep rally, check out the photo gallery on pinoakpress.com.

Thanks for watching, Chargers. Bye.
