Italian Class Cooks Up Culture

Video Transcript

Hey Chargers, and welcome to the Pin Oak Press. My name is Caroline Walton, and today our top story is the pasta-making class that happened on April 3rd and 4th in five of the seven Italian classes. These classes made tagliatelle pasta with an egg-based dough, served with pesto and red sauce.

Fumo: I chose to make pasta with my students because I think culture is equally as important as learning the language in a classroom setting, and it’s also a personal passion of mine. I plan on doing this every year with my seventh and eighth-grade students and culture classes.

Kochran: My experience with pasta was amazing.

Marsack: It was awesome because usually in Italian class, we just learn about verbs, but now we got to explore the culture of Italy, and it was awesome.

Kochran: The best part? Eating it, for sure!

Marsack: The best part of making the pasta was probably either rolling the dough or kneading the dough, especially cooking it because the cooking part doesn’t take very long.

Pasta la vista, Chargers, and see you next time!
