Hey Chargers, welcome back to POMS weekly News, I hope you’re having a great day! Let’s jump right into this week’s story.

TOP STORY

With the track season starting, the athletes first practice occurred on February 3rd. The Track coaches are Dana Bates and Monique Freeman. They had their first meet last Saturday, on February 15th. 7th grade boys placed 2nd place overall and the 7th grade girls placed 3rd place overall. 8th grade girls placed 4th overall  and the 8th grade boys placed 5th place overall.

WEATHER

The high for today is 78 and the low is 56. The rest of the week is going to be a little chilly including cloudy weather and some rain. This week’s average high is 78 and this week’s average low is 44.

RECAP

Now that we have entered baseball and softball season let’s recap what has happened so far. The undefeated softball team is back for another season. The last 2 years they have been district champions, lets see if they can do it again. The first softball game was against Meyerland Middle School. They dominated Meyerland with a score of 17-1. Softball had 3 games cancelled against Kinkaid, St, Johns, and Pershing. All of the boys baseball games have been cancelled due to weather. On to soccer, the last game was against one of our biggest rivals, Lanier Middle School and took place on february 25th. The girls lost 5-1. The boys won with a score of 3-1.

UPCOMING
There is a softball game today against Hogg Middle school and is going to be here at Pin Oak at 5:00p.m. Tomorrow, baseball has a baseball game against Hogg Middle School. The game is going to be located here at Pin Oak at 4:45p.m. There is also another softball game tomorrow against Rusk. The game is going to be at Rusk at 5:00p.m. On Friday, there is going to be a Game Night at Pin Oak from 4:30-6:30.
