Reviewing Popular Slimes & How To Make Your Own

Video Transcript

Hey POMS! I’m Ava, I’m Grace, and I’m Sophia. Today we’re going to teach you how to make slime with things you have at home.

Okay, the first ingredient is glue, and we’re also going to be reviewing other slimes. I’m not going to add color to my slime

I’m just going to leave it because it’s already colorful.

I’m going to make my slime purple, and I’m making mine blue.

After you put in your 4 oz. spot of glue, then you can add your color. Since we don’t have purple food coloring, I’m just going to mix red and blue.

Mine is really pretty, it’s like a sky blue color kind of.

Mine’s pink.

Okay, so we haven’t added activator yet. Now we’re going to the next step, which is to add contact solution and baking soda. You’re just going to add half a spoon. I filled my spoon to the top, but you’re just going to add half of it, and I just like to shake it off until yeah.

Okay, just make sure you mix it kind of just like fold it so it gets all through the slime. If you get any chunks, make sure to squish them, or else you’re going to squish them when you’re playing with it.

So the next ingredient we have is contact solution, and you’re just going to slowly mix with your slime and add contact solution. Once you start seeing it being able to not stick to the bowl is when you know you can stop.

My slime is starting to form, and it’s picking up around the sides.

Me too. I don’t know if you can see that, but your slime should be activated enough now that you’re able to play with it with your hands, but if not, make sure you add either more baking soda or contact solution, which is what I’m going to do.

I’m going to add a little bit, and if you over-activate it, you can add more glue to fix it.

Yeah, mine’s picking up from all the sides of the bowl, so now I’m taking it out and just kneading it with my hands because I don’t like to add way too much contact solution.

Now that we’ve made our own slimes, we’re going to compare the homemade slime to store-bought slimes. First, we have this jelly slime, we have this Play-Doh slime, and then we have this Aaron’s putty.

Let’s start with the jelly slime. Now we’re going to split it into three so we can all have some. Sophia, what do you rate this slime out of 10?

I rate it, it feels kind of weird.

I rate it like a 6 and a half because it’s like it kind of squishes really weirdly. I don’t know how to explain it, and it’s pretty stretchy, and it smells good. Grace, what do you rate it out of 10?

Out of 10, I would probably rate it like a 6 and a half maybe, because it smells really good, but it kind of feels weird, and the sparkles are getting on my hands.

Oh yeah, like they’re all over my hands now. I rated it like a 6 out of 10 as well because it smells really good, and it’s a little bit stretchy, but it kind of has a weird consistency, but I wasn’t expecting much from it because it’s like a jelly slime.

The next slime we’re reviewing is this Play-Doh Bubble Pop slime. Oh, it’s really crunchy.

I wonder if it makes good popping. What do you rate it out of 10?

I would rate it, I actually really like it, but I would probably give it a 7 out of 10 because I like how it’s crunchy, but it doesn’t really stretch that much.

Out of 10, I would probably rate it like a seven and a half, because I really like the color, and I like the texture, I like the little balls in it, and it smells good, but it’s just not very stretchy. What do you rate it, Sophia?

I rate it a four out of 10. I don’t think it’s stretchy, and it smells kind of weird. I feel like the little balls get in the way with the slime, like it’s literally balls with slime.

Oh, it has little charms in it. It has cute little charms, but it smells kind of weird in my opinion. It’s not very stretchy. The color is pretty.

So the next slime that we’re reviewing is the Aaron’s Thinking Putty. It’s not really a slime, but we’re still going to.

Oh, it’s really hard. Okay, it has, it looks like this. It has like a lot of charms. This one’s a putty.

Okay, so it’s kind of, oh, I hate this.

Okay, so this one isn’t that good because it has, it’s cute, but it doesn’t really stretch. It’s really hard. Ava, what’s your rate?

I rate it a two out of 10. Out of 10, I would probably rate it a three because I really like the charms in it. I think they’re really cute, and there’s a wide variety of them, but it doesn’t stretch very much, and it’s really hard, and smells really bad.

Okay, first of all, it stinks. Second of all, these little things keep poking my hands. They’re animals, so like cute, but you can’t play with it. Literally, all you can do is squish it, and sometimes it hurts to squish because the little hand things are poking your hands.

So what do you rate it?

I rate it a one. I wish I could give it a zero, but I rate it a one.

Okay, so what do you all think the best slime was out of all four of them, including our homemade slime?

I think the jam and jelly.

Out of all of them, probably my homemade one.

I think my homemade one too, because it’s really stretchy. I personally don’t like charms, so it’s really squishy.

Bye charms. Thanks for watching!
