Hey Chargers, welcome back to Gray Day News, providing you with weekly updates, recaps, weather, and a top story for the week. I’m Lorelei, and our top story focuses on the upcoming Winter Showcase on December 10th. Let’s dive into the details!
Lauren: Thanks, Lorelei! The Winter Showcase is a dance performance that Pin Oak hosts every year right before winter break. This event gives the dance and hip-hop classes a chance to showcase the routines they’ve learned. Pin Oak’s Cheer, Crew, and Company teams will also be performing.
This year, instead of holding the show in our gym, the event will take place at Bellaire High School’s main gym due to our gym floor being redone. The Showcase will be held on Tuesday, December 10th. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the show begins at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased on SchoolPay.
Lorelei: Thanks, Lauren! Now on to today’s weather. The high for today is 65°, and the low is 42°. There’s a 10% chance of rain, and the UV index is at 4. The rest of the week looks a little cloudy.

The boys’ and girls’ basketball teams both played against Welch Middle School last Thursday, December 5th. Here are the results:
- Seventh-grade girls: Won 34–2
- Eighth-grade girls: Won 27–6
- Seventh-grade boys: Unable to play due to a forfeit by Welch.
- Eighth-grade boys: Won 51–1
Remember, Chargers, now that we’re entering sweater season, every Friday in December, you can wear your ugly sweaters to celebrate the holidays!
Lorelei: And now for upcoming events.
- The Intermediate Fall Play will take place at Pin Oak on December 17th from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- The Winter Orchestra Concert will be held at Pin Oak on December 12th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
